AuZtralia board game by Martin Wallace

Created by SchilMil Games (Amanda Milne)

AuZtralia is an adventure/exploration game for up to 4 players set in an alternate reality 1930s. The theme is inspired by Martin Wallace's game A Study in Emerald. It can be played competitively, or as a solo game or as a fully co-operative game.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Surveys out, artwork ready!
over 6 years ago – Wed, Apr 18, 2018 at 01:56:47 AM

Greetings!

It's survey time!

Surveys are going out in the next few hours. A small smoke test went out earlier today.

Please read the first question carefully!  The item you pledged for is NOT automatically added to your cart. You need to select it.

Doing so will calculate the shipping charge for your country and add that too.

Artwork update.

It's a little over two weeks since the Kickstarter finished, and all the English files are ready to go to print!  The other language editions are also well underway with the translation of files.

Martin Wallace and I had a production meeting over the weekend and together we reviewed all the print-ready files at SchilMil HQ.  (We also had a couple of drinks to celebrate the success of the Kickstarter, and made some plans for top secret future projects.)

My partner loves to make videos so he filmed us doing a bit of work, and also faking it! Martin did nearly fall asleep when I talked him through the punch board setup :)

Explora. Construye. Expande!

The Spanish edition has been translated and I've checked the files over. A big THANKS to José and the team at MasQueOca for being great to work with and doing an amazing job.  Here's a sneak preview of the bottom of the box Spanish style...

.

It's very exciting to see the project come together like this, with a world-wide collaboration of publishers and backers. Thank you to everyone!

Until next time.

Cheers,

Amanda & Martin

Games Games!!
over 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 16, 2018 at 01:35:32 AM

Hi,

Further to yesterday's update about the survey coming soon, I thought I'd also give you a heads-up about the other games we are able to offer to backers via the pledge manager. These are listed below and are limited in supply, so you'll need to get in quick!

Also, re the survey...

Switching pledges : At the start of the survey you can switch your pledge. Please note when you switch your pledge you must save the change by clicking the [SWITCH] button at the end of the list of pledge types or it won't take effect.

Local Pick Up : Please note: if you are opting for Local Pick-Up, the additional games listed here won't appear as an option for you to add on.  If you want to add any of these games, contact me with details and I will manually add these to your cart before you complete your order.

AuZtralia Group Buy : If you want to do a Local Pick-Up for the AuZtralia Group Buy carton, you can do. To enable this you should switch your pledge at the start of the survey to the very last option "Group Buy Local Pick Up" and then you won't be charged for shipping.

That's all for now. More very soon...

Cheers,

Amanda

Your Survey will be emailed to you this week – your action is needed!

Hello again from SchilMil Games HQ.

With translations under way and artwork being finalised we will soon be ready to send out our Backer Survey. Your input is absolutely required! It’s vital that we gather all your shipping and other information accurately so we can finalise print quantities and brief our fulfilment partners. This is what is going to happen and here is what we need you to do:

• In the coming week you’ll receive an email from us containing a link to your own personal survey page on BackerKit. For those of you not familiar with BackerKit, there is more information below.

• Click on the link and you’ll be taken to a page that looks very similar to the sample shown below. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey.

• The page will list the pledge you made. Select your shipping country and click the Get Started button. We will ask you one or two questions, ask for your shipping information, allow you to purchase add-on items if you like and pay your charges.

• If you pledged ‘No Reward’ or want to switch rewards, click on the ‘switch your pledge level’ link below the green Get Started! button.

• For the majority of you, this will be a very simple two-minute process. For more information, please read the BackerKit Pledge Manager FAQ section below:

.

BackerKit Pledge Manager FAQ

Why are we using the BackerKit Pledge Manager? - This system helps us provide a better user experience for you and allows us to collect all your data as accurately and as efficiently as possible.

The system allows you to easily:

  • Switch your pledge level e.g. change your selected language edition.
  • Change the number of copies you require.
  • Input your shipping address, plus return later and update it if things change prior to our final ship date.
  • Choose any additional rewards you would like to add.
  • Pay for your add-ons and shipping.
  • If you pledged for a “Local Pick-up”, tell us where you would like to collect from
  • Return later and change your responses at any time before final survey close.

How do I return to the survey page later? – click the link in your survey email or "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page.

Finally...

Thank you all once again for your fantastic support! We want this project to be delivered on time and to delight everyone. Please help us to keep everything on schedule by completing your survey as soon as you can. If you have a problem, use the BackerKit support facility, or contact us direct and we’ll do everything we can to help.

Thanks,

Amanda & the SchilMil Team

Artwork almost done!

Greetings from SchilMil HQ

We have been busy finalising the artwork for the game, and preparing the pledge manager behind-the-scenes stuff so that we can send your survey to you. You will receive a message as well as an update in about a week inviting you to finalise your details and pay any shipping charge.

Excerpts from 'Eminent Australians'
The biographies of our 36 personalities continue to be unearthed from the dusty records of times past.

Today we added the story of Ivan Karpov, who is one of my personal favourites. His ability to help defend my port with strategically placed land mines has been very welcome in times of crisis.

.

INTRODUCING... IVAN KARPOV (born 1888 – died 1932)
Ivan Karpov was born during the Siege of St. Petersburg, where the Restorationists held out against the Loyalist forces of Count Schliefen for over two years. After the war Karpov joined the army and became an expert in the design and deployment of landmines. These skills were highly valued for the Australian expedition. Karpov’s minefields at Wallaroo were instrumental in defeating the Old Ones that attacked there in 1931. Karpov unfortunately did not live to see the final defeat of the Old Ones, losing his life when a store room containing land mines exploded.

If you missed the previous 15 or so biographies - you can read them here. We will eventually publish all 36.

Dropped pledge?
If you received a notice from Kickstarter that your credit card could not be charged, there are a few days left to rectify this.  If your card cannot be charged, your pledge will unfortunately be cancelled and we'd hate to lose you!

This may happen due to the card expiry date or credit limit being reached, or a temporary delay while your card company checks the purchase.

If you are worried about the status of your pledge, contact me and I will check to see if you are currently listed as 'Collected' or 'Pending'.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Until next time.

Amanda

Late Backer?
over 6 years ago – Sat, Mar 31, 2018 at 03:08:06 PM

Hi,

If you missed the Kickstarter, do not panic!

The pre-order page is here

If you are a backer, at any level (including "No Reward"),  DO NOT use the pre-order page. You will receive a message around April 14th with the link to your order that you pledged for, and can update it at that time.

Cheers,

Amanda
